Reds bullpen catcher makes paintings

Joe Singley, the bullpen catcher and assistant catching coach for the Reds, made a painting of Jonathan India (second baseman for the Reds).

Check out this painting of @JonathanIndia!

Terrific work! 😮

Here’s a closer look at the painting.

Singley has quite a journey becoming the Reds assisant catching coach.

Catching Singley: How the Reds bullpen catcher landed his job from Instagram

Joe Singley has overcome four surgeries, never playing in an NCAA game, and the death of his father. Then, he got his shot.

Singley’s Twitter account (@joe_singley) and Instagram account (@catching_singley) showcase his catching knowledge, but neither account show his paintings.

Do any of Joe Singley’s paintings appear elsewhere online?

I couldn’t find any other Joe Singley paintings online, but I found a few profiles that mention his interest in art.

High school

His 2016 high school profile mentions his interest in art

Aside from athletics, Joe enjoys lifting weights and participating in Archmere’s Award Winning Fine Arts Program, and is a member of the National Art Honors Society. Freshman year, competing with juniors and seniors, he won two Silver Keys and two Honorable Mentions in the Regionals of the National Scholastics Scholarship Art Awards Program. Since then, he has piled on many more Silver Key and Gold Key Awards. He scored an AP5 in AP Drawing and Painting, and this year he recently submitted his portfolio for AP 2-D Design.

I did manage to find a logo for his “Catching Singley”.

This logo is not on his Instagram, but a high school news site included this logo with an article about Singley.
