Elly De La Cruz in World Series (my wish)

With the Diamondbacks in the 2023 World Series, we have NL Rookie of the Year Corbin Carroll playing. He’s accomplished a lot this year:

  • 2nd fastest to 20 HRs/20 SBs in AL/NL history
  • Reaches 25 HR, 35 SB in 2nd fewest games since 1900
  • 1st rookie in MLB history w/ 25 HRs & 50 SBs (4th rookie ever to record a 20 HR, 40 SB season)
  • Records 1st 10+ 3B, 25+ HR & 50+ SB season ever
  • Youngest Arizona player to hit postseason HR
  • Reaches base 3rd-most times (12) through 1st 4 postseason games

NL leaderboards

  • 1st Triples
  • 1st Championship WPA
  • 2nd Stolen Bases
  • 2nd Power-Speed
  • 3rd Win Probability Added
  • 6th Offensive WAR
  • 6th Runs scored
  • 7th Youngest
  • 8th WPA/LI
  • 8th Adjusted OPS+
  • 9th OPS

Wait, didn’t I title this post about Elly De La Cruz? Yeah. I wish Elly continued his hot streak this year, and ended up in the World Series. He took the baseball world by storm his first few weeks. Then kinda flattened out.

Imagine if he stayed hot and now was the talk of town in the World Series.
