3x Cubs World Champions, almost a three-peat!

Three-peat! Three-peat!

The Chicago Bulls accomplished the three-peat in 1991, 1992, 1993. Much to Chicago’s delight, the Bulls did it again in 1996, 1997, and 1998.

Chicago was three-peat mania! We all had t-shirts with 3-peat or 3x on it. It’s etched into Chicagoan’s minds.

Recently this 3x World Champions shirt pops up for the Cubs.

I bought this, because it’s HILARIOUS. It’s like a Bulls three-peat shirt. Except the Bulls, y’know, did it three CONSECUTIVE years. For the Cubs, they did it in 1907, 1908… wait wait… 2016. Only had a 108 year gap for the third. But that’s close enough, right?

CUBS 3X CHAMPIONS!!!!
OH YEAH!
OH YEAH, THOSE YEARS OF 1907 AND 1908
SWEET YEARS

Cubs fans loathe the gap in championship years, but I like to embrace them. It’s part of our history. Part of Ernie Banks, part of Ryne Sandberg, Mark Grace, and Charlie Hollocher. Now that we won our third, we can finally stand back and laugh about it.

And the shirt is only six bucks. (oh wait, now it’s five bucks!)
